Rand McNally Road Atlas App Reviews

Software took about nine minutes to download, took about a minute to complete. You can zoom in and out. So far I see this as a good thing. With the large amount of graphical information that is being displayed - It seems to operate efficiently. I like it so far - keep up the good work.

Dont know what everyone else was expecting but it is an atlas. If you wanted small streets, get a gps... This is an awesome app and exactly what it should be.

Really enjoyed this map software prior to the most recent update, however, since the company updated the APP I cant get it downloaded.

2016 Rand McNally is no longer the map to purchase. This electronic version is just as bad as the print version. No details, missing roads since 2012. Had to buy a map at a gas station. It was 2012 and was better than this!

This is exactly what it says, a road atlas, just like the paper version without the bulk. Yes its a scanned version of the hard copy, no its not a gps. Ive had no problems with the updates. I refer to this when Im looking for alternative routes because I dont always agree with my gps. I grew up using road atlases long before there was gps and I drive for a living, so if you still love your Rand McNally but dont want to haul around the giant printed version, this is for you.

App worked great but ever since I got a message to upload a new version. I cant even open the app it just crashes. I deleted and re-downloaded it and Im still having the same problem. Very disappointed Im on vacation and planned to use it. This is the first app I ever paid to purchase and now Im disappointed it worked for a year and now its broken.

I love the maps that are provided, they are the same maps that I had in the paper version. The zooming feature is great, and I had no issues with the app running smoothly as others seemed to have had, but I also did not have it before the update happened. I have done many cross country trips within the past ten years and I always have had a rand McNally road atlas with me. I thought I would try the app this time. Like I said before, I am satisfied with the quality of maps however the paper version would also have information on each of the maps including: mileage between major cities, total mileage of a particular interstate within the state, and little facts of the state you are going through. I would like to have a menu option to look up that information within the map that Im on. Also in the paper version there was a page in the back that had a mileage chart for a lot of major cities throughout the U.S. I found it very useful while traveling and I would like to have this information be part of the app version.

Always liked Rand McNally paper maps and thought this App would be great for my new iPhone 6 Plus and iPad 2. Unfortunately, the App won’t load on my iPhone; it appears to have loaded on the iPad, which is nice, just don’t understand why it won’t work on the iPhone 6. Very disappointed. Attempting to reload from the App Store to see if that will fix the problem.

This app is what I wanted it to be. I have always loved the paper USA RM road atlas, and now I have it in a convenient easy to carry electronic format.

So helpful I recommend to buy the GPS and this one is very good for truck drivers

I paid for the app and it will not load on to my iPad2.

Map is exactly like the paper map. Nothing more. Can not pin point you location or make marks. Wish I could do more with this app!

Still cant download this. Bad app.

Waste of money.....this app does not download onto my Ipad2. Called Rand McNallys non-existent online tech support.....got put into menu la-la land. Will never purchase from Rand McNally again!

Dont waste your money on this app it is nothing like there road atlas what a poor app from a great company its a true same you would hurt your own reputation by selling this worthless app.

Maps are very good. Really good and easy to understand. The problem is that there is no functionality you would expect in an app. I know it doesnt claim to be a GPS app and wont give you directions, but it should use at least show where you are on the map! This is a smartphone, after all. That should be easy to implement. But it seems like they dont care much about developing this app.

Downloaded the app three time, but it fails to install. Guess Ill stick to a paper map :-(

Very disappointing, I expected a collection of maps not just 1 map. The "write up" mentions MAPS indicating to me that it would be an atlas book of maps. $9.99 was a lot of money for 1 map of USA.

Downloaded this app but it will not install Tried 8 times so far, gets to the install part and stops. Then it says cant install wont work on my iPhone or iPad???

It would be nice if you could enter a City, and State, and it would pin point for you. Ive tried, map has no search capabilities.
