Wish it were more like the paper version

I love the maps that are provided, they are the same maps that I had in the paper version. The zooming feature is great, and I had no issues with the app running smoothly as others seemed to have had, but I also did not have it before the update happened.
I have done many cross country trips within the past ten years and I always have had a rand McNally road atlas with me. I thought I would try the app this time. Like I said before, I am satisfied with the quality of maps however the paper version would also have information on each of the maps including: mileage between major cities, total mileage of a particular interstate within the state, and little facts of the state you are going through. I would like to have a menu option to look up that information within the map that Im on. Also in the paper version there was a page in the back that had a mileage chart for a lot of major cities throughout the U.S. I found it very useful while traveling and I would like to have this information be part of the app version.
